Texas Legends News Release
FRISCO, TX - The Texas Legends, presented by Veracruz (visit Veracruz.mx), evened the series against the Rio Grande Valley Vipers with a 125-118 victory at home.
The Legends used a big second quarter to come back from a 12-point deficit, going into halftime up by one. The two teams kept it close throughout the third, remaining one point heading into the final 12 minutes. Texas took off quickly in the fourth to go up by four before the Vipers battled back for a tie with just under nine minutes to play. The two teams volleyed for the lead, changing hands six times. Marcus Hubbard slammed it in to grab the advantage with 5:45 left and the Legends never looked back. Behind the hot shooting of PJ Harris, the Legends outscored the Vipers 31-25 in the fourth to boost their record to 15-12.
Hairston and Devin Ebanks led the Legends in scoring with 25 each. Marcus Hubbard grabbed a game-high 17 rebounds while posting 13 points, 3 assists and 2 blocked shots. Troy Daniels put up 28 points and 10 rebounds for the Vipers.
Beyond the on-court victory, the Legends celebrated major progress with the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life. Thanks to the generosity of the Credit Union of Texas, the Legends wore specialty jerseys in honor of Relay For Life and Legends' fans learned about the life-saving research ACS is funding as well as how to get involved with Relay.
The two teams will rematch tomorrow night at 7pm on Veracruz Court, and the game will be broadcast live on television - KTXD 47 - and radio - KVCE 1160am. For more information on the team or the full season schedule call 214-469-0822 or visit www.TexLegends.com.
