Legends Slip in Second Half, Drop Home Opener to Blue

FRISCO, TX - The Texas Legends (0-1) opened the season at home with a 95-108 loss to the Oklahoma City Blue (0-1).

The two teams got off to a slow start with only nine points scored in the first five minutes. Texas went up 7-0 first and finished the quarter with a 7-point lead 24-17. The home team heated up before the half thanks to an 11-point performance from Justin Jackson, taking their largest lead of the night midway through 49-27. The Blue chipped away but a long ball from Theo Pinson at the buzzer made it a 13-point game at the break.

Greg Brown III opened the scoring in the third quarter to put Texas up 15, but the Blue shot 50% and erased the lead, finishing at 76-all. The visitors took their first lead of the night seconds into the fourth and never let go, outscoring the home team 66-40 in the second half.

Justin Jackson led all scorers with 26 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists. Greg Brown III finished with 14 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 blocks, and Theo Pinson came off the bench for 21 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists.

The Blue finished with six players in double figures led by Hunter Maldonado (17 points, 11 rebounds) and Jaden Shackelford (17 points, 4 rebounds). Jahmi'us Ramsey added another double-double from off the bench with 15 points, 11 rebounds followed closely by Abdul Gaddy at 15 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists.
