The Lexington Legends scored seven runs in the ninth inning and came from behind to beat the West Virginia Power 12-8 Monday night in Charleston.

The Legends had an early 3-0 lead, but a two-run homer by Evan Chambers in the third inning, and solo shots by Jesus Brito in the fourth, Jarek Cunningham in the fifth, and Rogelio Noris in the sixth gave the Power a 5-3 lead. West Virginia added a run in the seventh inning on a double by Elevys Gonzalez and a two-out throwing error by Legends second baseman Jose Altuve.

The Legends moved to within a run at 6-5 in the eighth on a two-run homer by Jake Goebbert, but the Power restored its three-run margin in the bottom of the eighth on a two-run triple by Gonzalez.

With the Legends trailing 8-5, pinch hitter Aaron Bray started the ninth with a triple and scored on a throwing error. Miguel Arrendell and Altuve walked, and Renzo Tello followed with a double to left field, scoring Arrendell and sending Altuve to third. J.D. Martinez was intentionally walked to load the bases. Goebbert popped out, but Kody Hinze walked to force in the tying run. Jonathan Meyer followed with a two-run single to give Lexington a 10-8 lead. After Jiovanni Mier grounded out, Bray, batting for the second time in the inning, singled to drive in two more runs.

Wander Alvino (4-2) got the win. Mark Baca (3-2), who came into the game to start the ninth inning, took the loss. Altuve was four-for-four in the game to raise his batting average to .303.

The Legends took three out of five in the series. Lexington returns home to face the Hickory Crawdads Wednesday night at Applebee's Park. Game time is 7:05 p.m.
