
Legends Roll Past Spurs

FRISCO, TX - The Texas Legends hosted the Austin Spurs in a one-sided matchup ending in a 115-89 victory for the home team. The Legends now lead the season series against their in-state rivals 4-2.
Mavericks assignee Dwight Powell set the tone for the game sinking a three for the first points of the game and posting 10 of the Legends' 30 points in the first. The Legends continued to increase the gap in the second with Eric Griffin posting 10 as the lead grew as high as 22.
Shooting slowed in the second half but the Legends continued at 50% while the Spurs struggled at 39% overall and 20% from the three. Jarrid Famous took the lead in the fourth with 10 points as the Legends finalized their 26-point victory over the Spurs. Austin outrebounded the Legends 58-47 but finished the night at 9% from beyond the arc while the Legends hit 27%.
Powell led the Legends with 28 points, 5 rebounds. Famous grabbed a season-high 23 points, 11 rebounds as he and Eric Griffin (16 points, 10 rebounds) each added double-doubles.
Jonathan Simmons posted a game-high 29 points to lead the Spurs while Keith Wright added the team's only double-double of 10 points, 15 rebounds.
The Legends will head to Idaho for back-to-back games against the Stampede Monday and Wednesday at 8pm CT. Both games will be broadcast live on www.TexLegends.com.
