Texas Legends News Release
FRISCO, TX, (Nov. 17, 2014) - The Texas Legends have announced a partnership with ZTE USA, the fourth largest smartphone manufacturer in the US, to present Interactive TV. All 2014-15 home games will once again be broadcast live on television, but will now include technological advancements to incorporate fan interaction.
ZTE smartphones will capture a behind-the-scenes experience to be broadcast live as Interactive TV on KTXD47. Part of the experience will be provided by coaches who will diagram plays in real-time using the "Bringing You Closer Phablet". Fans will get a close-up replay of dunks, blocked shots and more via ZTE's "Bringing You Closer Cam" located on the basketball backboard. The Legends in-game reporter will use the latest ZTE mobile devices to respond to fan questions via Twitter and share feedback and responses from players and coaches throughout the game. Finally, the "Bringing You Closer Pictures of the Game" will give an up close and personal look at the team during locker room meetings, huddles, pre-game warm-ups and more.
"This is a unique and innovative partnership," commented Legends Owner and Mavericks President of Basketball Operations Donnie Nelson. "The opportunity to create a telecast that allows the casual viewer at home to interact with our TV hosts Mike Fisher, RJ Choppy, and Travis Blakeley while they use ZTE technology that is second-to-none, makes it a truly interactive viewing experience."
Interactive TV will be able to be viewed live on KTXD47 for all of the Legends home games, while ZTE's presence will also be seen on the Legends re-broadcasted games on Fox Sports Southwest throughout the season.
The broadcasts will begin with the Legends' home opener on Friday, November 21 against the Santa Cruz Warriors at 7pm. For more information and the full season schedule visit www.TexLegends.com or call 214-469-0822.
