Legends Announce Faith and Family Night Partnership with Thrivent Financial

FRISCO, TX, (Dec. 4, 2013) - The Texas Legends, presented by Veracruz (visit Veracruz.mx), have announced a unique partnership with Thrivent Financial that will call attention to what the organization values most - faith and family.

On Saturday, Dec 7 as the Legends host the Austin Toros, Thrivent will bring Faith and Family night alive with customized jerseys and interaction throughout the game. Any funds raised throughout the evening will benefit LINC North Texas, an organization aiming to transform communities through spiritual, educational and economic development. LINC North Texas received $25,000 from the Thrivent Foundation to benefit its Faith and Finances program, which offers real world help for poor families and their finances. Thrivent will make an official presentation of the grant at the game on Saturday.

"We are very excited to be a part of this opportunity as we join two fabulous organizations who are likeminded about impacting our communities for the better. It should be a fun night," Thrivent representative Rebecca Smith commented.

The Legends will wear customized jerseys celebrating the night. Select jerseys will be available via a silent auction during the game, with all proceeds going back to Linc North Texas. As part of the festivities of the night, select individuals from Thrivent and Linc North Texas will be honored as "Legends of the Night."

The Legends face the San Antonio Spurs affiliate at 7 pm on December 7, a home rematch after the two teams meet in Austin this Thursday. Dec 7 will be the second of a ten-game series between the Toros and Legends. Familiar faces highlight this matchup with the Legends returning Melvin Ely, Chris Douglas-Roberts and Sean Singletary from last season's rivalry, while the Toros bring back Jazwyn Cowan, Eric Dawson and Terrance Woodbury.
