Legends Acquire Returning Player Rights to Theo Pinson

FRISCO, TX - The Texas Legends have acquired the returning player rights to guard Theo Pinson along with a 1st round pick in the 2023 NBA G League Draft in a trade with the Maine Celtics. In exchange, Texas sends the returning player rights to James Banks III and Grant Riller.

Pinson (6-7, 212, North Carolina) has played 127 regular season games across five seasons in the NBA with the Brooklyn Nets, New York Knicks, and Dallas Mavericks. In the last two seasons with the Mavericks, the Greensboro, NC native played 59 games and averaged 2.4 points, 1.4 rebounds, and 1.1 assists in 8.0 minutes. Pinson was assigned to the Legends for three games of the 2021-22 season where he averaged 9.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 3.3 assists in 30.5 minutes per game.

Pinson played four seasons with the Tar Heels, where he averaged 6.2 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 3.4 assists and earned ACC All-Honorable Mention Team as a senior.
