
Lefsrud back with Eskimos

(Edmonton) The Edmonton Eskimos today announced that veteran offensive lineman and three-time Grey Cup champion Kevin Lefsrud has ended his one year retirement and has signed with the club.
In keeping with the club policy, terms of the agreement have not been released.
The native of Viking, AB announced his retirement following Edmonton's 2005 Grey Cup victory. He enters his fourth season with the Esks; seventh in the CFL.
Eskimo Head Coach and Director of Football Operations Danny Maciocia says, "Kevin is one of the premier linemen in the CFL. He's won at every level and brings tremendous leadership to our club."

Acquired: Re-signed in May 2007. Originally signed as a free agent with Edmonton on February 23, 2003.
2005: (Edmonton) Played in18 regular season games, both playoff games and the Grey Cup. He was Edmonton's nominee for Outstanding Lineman for the second straight year.
Career: Kevin was Montreal's fifth round selection (37th overall) in the 1999 CFL Canadian College Draft. Kevin played in 52 regular season games in three seasons with Montreal. After signing with Edmonton for the 2003 season, Kevin started all 18 games at left guard in 2003. In 2004 he started 13 games at left guard before moving to centre in Week 14 and was the Eskimo nominee for Outstanding Lineman. He retired after the 2005 season.
College/Personal: Kevin was a starter at left tackle for the 1998 Vanier Cup champion Saskatoon Huskies. Named an All-Canadian in 1999, he also played in the Shrine Bowl. Kevin, wife Kyla and daughters Kelby and Kail reside in Viking, Alberta where Kevin operates a seed farm.
