Salt Lake Bees News Release
Salt Lake starting pitcher Luis Ledo tossed six shutout innings in leading the Bees to a 4-2 win over the Albuquerque Isotopes on Saturday night. Ledo (3-3), who came into the game with a personal three game losing streak, faced the minimum 18 batters in his six innings with six strikeouts and no walks. He gave up a single in the second, but that runner was thrown out trying to steal and another single in the third, but he was erased on a double play. Albuquerque trailed 4-1 in the seventh with the bases loaded and no outs, but Jonathan Diaz came out of the bullpen and allowed only one of those runners to score. Jimmy Herget worked a scoreless eighth and Andrew Wantz retired the Isotopes in order in the ninth to record his fourth save of the season.
The Bees took a 1-0 lead in the first on a two out RBI single by Daniel Murphy. They would add another run in the third inning on a run scoring single by Zach Humphreys. Jared Walsh would cap off the Salt Lake scoring with a 445 foot home run to centerfield that snapped the Bees' seven game homerless streak. Walsh, Humphreys and Phillips each delivered two hits and one run batted in, as all nine starters had at least one hit each.
