LEC/Bucks Whataburger Celebrates Grand Opening Monday

LAREDO, Texas – The Laredo Bucks will participate in the Grand Opening of the new Whataburger located right next to the Laredo Entertainment Center. “We are very excited to have Whataburger as a part of our master plan development,” said Arena Ventures CEO Kiki DeAyala. “They’ll fit in nicely with some of our other projects including Hal’s Landing, a 35,000 square foot, family entertainment facility with state of the art games, restaurant, and much more, as well as the 115-room Hawthorne Suite Hotel, Powell Watson Toyota, and a soon to be announced State of the Art Entertainment facility which will be a first for Laredo.”

The new Whataburger is located at 7010 Lancer which is right off Jacaman road, next to the LEC.

“We are dedicating this Whataburger to the Laredo Bucks,” Whataburger Human Resource Director Erika Lowry said. “Whataburger was one of the first big sponsors to support the Bucks and we have enjoyed the relationship we have developed. We are also pleased to be a part of what is becoming the most explosive and high growth area Laredo has seen surrounding the Laredo Entertainment Center.”

The Laredo Chamber of Commerce Bienvenido committee will also be present.


· The Laredo Bucks have declared a whiteout for their Saturday game against the Austin Ice Bats. The Bucks will assist fans with the whiteout by offering 10 percent off all white merchandise at the Bucks Team Store located at the LEC. Fans are encouraged to wear white in a show of solidarity for the hometown Bucks.


· Saturday fans can donate blood from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. at the LEC. All donors will receive a Give Blood Play Hockey T-Shirt and also will receive a ticket for a future Bucks game. In addition they will be entered in a drawing for prizes that will be given away during the Bucks game on Saturday.


· Fans can skate after every weekend home game thru the end of the 2004-05 regular season. The cost per session is four dollars if you have skates, six dollars if you need to rent skates. The public skate sessions will last for an hour after the games. All skaters must sign a waiver. Skaters under the age of 18 must have a parent present to sign the waiver. Skaters can sign up at the table located on the concourse during the game. The sessions will be limited to 150 skaters.
