
Lawson Signs On The Dotted Line

Just two days after being acquired, Brett Lawson is officially a member of the Goldeyes.
Manager Rick Forney announced today the signing of the Canadian right-hander. Acquired on Monday from Quebec of the Can-Am League for infielder Sean Walsh, the 6'8 Lawson is the first player signed for the coming campaign.
Edmonton's ace this year, Lawson went 8-6 with a 5.73 earned run average in 20 appearances, 17 of them starts, and fanned 98 in 99 innings. He also represented the Cracker-Cats at the Northern League All-Star Game in Kansas City.
Drafted by Minnesota in 2001, Lawson is a career 15-10 with a 5.02 ERA, striking out 196 in 209-plus innings.
