Erie SeaWolves News Release
The SeaWolves (10-7) broke a three-gaming losing streak with a 3-2, walk-off win over Harrisburg (8-9) 10 innings.
Erie broke onto the scoreboard first in the fourth inning. Jake Holton plated TJ Hopkins on a two-out double off the fence in left field to give Erie a 1-0 lead.
Jackson Jobe started for Erie and turned in his best outing of the season. He threw four hitless innings. The only runner he allowed was a walk to Robert Hassell III to begin the game. Jobe retired 12 straight hitters, six on strikeouts, to conclude his outing.
Harrisburg tied the game in the fifth against Erie reliever Carlos Peña. Cortland Lawson singled home Israel Pineda to knot the score at one.
In the sixth with two out, Yohandy Morales plated the go-ahead run with a two-out, RBI single. Harrisburg led 2-1.
The SeaWolves came back to tie the game in the eighth. Carlos Mendoza and Daniel Cabrera walked consecutively to open the inning against Holden Powell. Tyler Schoff replaced Powell with one out and advanced the runners on a wild pitch. Trei Cruz then hit a sacrifice fly to score Mendoza and tie the game.
In the 10th inning, Erie loaded the bases with nobody out. Hao-Yu Lee swung at the first pitch from Garvin Alston and sent it to the warning track in right field. The sacrifice fly scored the free runner, Daniel Cabrera, to win the game for Erie.
Andrew Magno (3-0) earned the win in relief for Erie. He tossed two frames in relief, did not allow a hit or walk, and struck out four batters. Alston (0-2) took the loss.
The series continues on Friday at 6:05 p.m. Wilkel Hernandez opposes Brad Lord.
