
Late Offense Helps the Huskies Defeat the Rox

Duluth, Minn - The Huskies came into St. Cloud after losing a in walk-off fashion to the Honkers the night before. The Huskies were 4-0 coming into the game against the Rox.
The Huskies started out the game fast scoring two runs in the first. The first run came on a Kyle Jacobsen(South Carolina) double that scored Nick Sogard(Loyola Marymount) from first. Jacobsen scored later in the inning on a double by Trevin Esquerra(Loyola Marymount).
The Rox answered back quickly in their half of the 1st when Ryan Davis(Georgetown University) scored on a double off the double from Bobby Seymour(Wake Forest). Seymour later scored on a double from Landon Stephens(Miami Ohio).
The Huskies added one in the 2nd on the single from Sogard, scoring General McArthur(Missouri Baptist).
The Rox took the lead back in the bottom of the 2nd, scoring four runs. The first run came after Kyle Mora(UC San Diego) gave up a walk with bases loaded to Davis. That would be the end of Mora's night as Tyler Cassmeyer(Lindenwood University) would come in relief for him. Connor Aube(Texas Arlington) would hit a sacrifice fly for the second run. Seymour would continue his hot night with an RBI single. The final run would come off a sacrifice fly by Stephens.
The Huskies would add two in the top of the 5th on an RBI single by Chris Gilbody(Georgetown College) scoring Augie Isaacson(Friends) and an error by the Rox catcher Ricardo Sanchez(Arkansas at Pine Bluff).
The Rox would add one more run in the bottom of the 7th on the fielder's choice hit by Stephens that scored Aube.
Th Huskies would tie the game up at 7 in the top of the 8th on a two out double by Michael McCann(Texas) that scored Tony Monroy(Georgetown College) and Sam Baier(Augustana).
McCann would come up again in the top of the 10th inning and send a deep fly ball to left-center field that would leave the ballpark for a three-run home run to give the Huskies the lead that they would not surrender.
Tim Holdgrafer(Cal Poly Pomona) would finish off the game for the Huskies in the bottom of the 10th to give the Huskies the win 10-7.
The Huskies will play St. Cloud tomorrow in the second of the two-game home and home series. Game time is 6:35 p.m.
