Fond du Lac Dock Spiders News Release

GREEN BAY, WI- The Fond du Lac Dock Spiders (23-17) were able to complete a dramatic comeback on a Sunday afternoon over the Green Bay Bullfrogs (13-28) 7-6.

Jacob Kostyshock (Arkansas) got his first start on the hill for the Spiders and would throw for four innings only allowing three hits and no runs.

After three innings of scoreless baseball the Dock Spiders would put a number on the scoreboard. In the 4th inning one run would come home to score on a play which was ruled an error by the first baseman. With a 1-0 lead after the inning Fondy would pick up right where they left on. For the second straight inning the Spiders would round home on an error.

Green Bay would tie the ball game with two runs of their own in the 5th inning when with both runs being scored on walks.

With two runners on base and Braden Stutzman (Oregon) up at the dish a wild sequence of events would break out. After two stolen bases from Sam Cohen (UC Santa Barbara) he stood on the third base bag with Jacob Adams (Ole Miss) advancing to first on a walk. Cohen would come into score to grab the lead for Fond du Lac 3-2 off of a wild pitch.

Green Bay in the bottom of the 6th inning ripped out four runs and they saw ten plate appearances. Fond du Lac would be down 6-3 after 7 innings and the records show that the Spiders had never come back to win when trailing after 7. That script would shortly change.

Three straight base hits from the Dock Spiders middle of the order got the ball rolling in the 8th inning. Sam Cohen (UC Santa Barbara) would line one into right field for an RBI sending home run number 4. Back to back RBI singles one from Jordan Prendiz (UCLA) and one from Jack Wassel (Minnesota) would notch the score at 6-6. The seventh and final run of the game would be scored on a wild pitch in the same inning.

Zach Bryant (Daytona State) would earn the save on the day throwing 1 2/3, not allowing a hit, and dishing out one strikeout.

Fond du Lac will travel back to Green Bay tomorrow night for a 7:05 first pitch.
