Late Game Goal Gives Wave the Win

(Milwaukee, WI) - The Wave's late game goal gave them a 12-11 victory over the Syracuse Silver Knights extending their winning streak to five games. The Wave is currently in second place in the MISL with a 6-2 record.

The Wave quickly took the lead when Tenzin Rampa found the back of the net just over two minutes into the contest. The Silver Knights struck back immediately as Nelson Santana rifled a 3-point goal giving them a 3-2 lead. Bryan Perez scored for the Knights on a power play increasing their lead to 5-2. Darron Toby finished a counter-attack giving the Silver Knights a 7-2 lead at the end of the first quarter. The Wave increased their intensity in the second quarter holding the Silver Knights scoreless in the second quarter. Ian Bennett cut the Wave's deficient to 7-4 with his first goal of the season. Marcio Leite added another goal as the Wave now trailed by one. The Wave regained the lead on Bennett's second goal of the night taking an 8-7 advantage going in half time.

The Silver Knights got on the board first in the third quarter as Santana scored his second goal of the game. Silver Knights increased their lead to 11-8 as Kenardo Forbes quickly scored again. The Wave's Nick Perera struck bringing the Wave back to within one at the end of the third quarter. Leite scored his second goal of the night with just 1:56 left in the game to give the Wave a 12-11 lead and a narrow victory.
