Chris Economides to be Honorary Captain in His Return to Rochester

(Rochester, NY) -- The Rochester Lancers today announced the return of legendary GM Chris Economides for tomorrow's Lancers game at Christopher J. Wilmot Field at the Blue Cross Arena at 7pm. Economides will be recognized as the game's Honorary Captain.
Economides won an indoor championship as an owner of the Kansas City Attack. He brought soccer back to Rochester in 1996 with the Rhinos. As the General Manager of the club, he won four championships, including a US Open Cup Championship. To this day, no other non-MLS team has ever won this. After his reign at the Rhinos, he created the Carolina Railhawks pro outdoor soccer team and orchestrated the return of the MISL. Economides currently serves as the Senior Director of USL Pro and MISL at the United Soccer League.
"Chris is the man with the foresight to bring soccer back to Rochester. Because of his vision, we now have the Lancers, Rhinos, Ravens, Flash, and Sahlen's Stadium," said Soccer Sam Fantauzzo, Lancers Owner. "None of these would have ever been possible without him."
The third place Lancers (5-5) return home Thursday, December 27 at 7pm to face defending champions, the second place Milwaukee Wave (5-2). Game details as follows:
