Akron, OH - The Akron RubberDucks (71-43) tally seven unanswered runs to defeat the Somerset Patriots (69-45) 8-6 on Tuesday afternoon at Canal Park.

Dermis Garcia got the scoring started with his league-leading 29th home run, a three-run shot to right field. Two batters later, Chad Bell (5) extended Somerset's lead to 4-0. After Akron scored a run in the third frame, Brandon Lockridge (9) went yard with a solo home run. Jesus Bastidas added a two-out RBI double in the sixth to push Somerset ahead 6-1.

In the seventh, Jose Fermin (5) went deep with a three-run home run to center field to cut it to just a two-run contest. Then in the eighth, Fermin delivered again, this time with a bases clearing three-run double. The infielder notched six RBI in the 4-for-4 performance. Akron scored seven unanswered runs over the final three frames to take an 8-6 lead.

Luis Medina twirled five innings and allowed just a run on six hits while striking out six but doesn't factor into the decision. Nic Enright (3-4) earned the win after working two scoreless frames to close out the ballgame. Zach Greene (2-5, BS 3) was handed the loss allowing four runs on five hits over 1.1 innings of work.

The Patriots are back in action tomorrow night at Canal Park. Peyton Battenfield (2-1) is scheduled to face Jhony Brito (2-3) with first pitch at 6:35 p.m.
