Carolina Cobras News Release
GREENSBORO, NC - With just one more practice Saturday morning, and having the players in pads all week, the coaches made the decision to pull the pads for tonight. It was more about working on the small details tonight, there was a lot of coaching going on everywhere on the field, as this was the next to last practice in the Carolina Cobras 2022 Training Camp and with the talent on the field, the coach's decisions are going to be very difficult tomorrow.
One thing that you hope for when you are building a team, is to have those moments when both the offense and defense shine, and that has been the case this entire camp. With a lot of installs going on tonight we won't be covering the sessions as we normally do, this is about watching this team come together as a family. You can have all the talent in the world, but if they don't come together as one it really means nothing. This team is one. They are together. That should make Cobra fans very happy when it comes to what goes on game day.
We asked Head Coach Josh Resignalo his thoughts on the camp through eight practices, he said "We took it a little easy tonight, some review, but we will get after it hard tomorrow morning. Then we will wrap up camp, make the final cuts and then we are getting ready for game week." We also asked him about his thoughts on players who have stood out during camp, he said "I think for me the main ones that stands out, of course you have DJ Myers, Kendrick Ings, Joe Powell, Walt Thomas, Derrick Ziegler for us to have a solid center is huge for us, the bigs we are pretty solid. I am very confident to have a defensive style and mentality that reminds me of the 2019 team, that is going to be big , and especially having Micah Robinson and Walter Thomas back as well to add to that, but overall I think the standout of all of camp so far for me is DB and rookie Jerimiah Stovall out of Nebraska, and the biggest thing is when their teammates are talking about it and singing the praise about it you know you have had a pretty good camp when everyone sees it, including your peers. So, we are ready to put it together and head to Albany"
So again, the final practice of the 2022 Carolina Cobras Training Camp is Saturday morning, followed by final cuts, then it is time to celebrate the 2022 Carolina Cobras at Cobras Fan Festival from 2-6pm Saturday at Baxter's Tavern in Greensboro. Free food, music and fun and you can pick up your Season Tickets for the 2022 Season, as well as meet the players and we look forward to seeing you all there!
