Salt Lake Bees News Release

The Salt Lake Bees were defeated by the Las Vegas 51's Saturday night by a score of 12-to-3. Left-handed pitcher Nate Smith got the start for Salt Lake on the mound but was pulled out after just two innings of work. Smith allowed two runs on two hits and added a strikeout in what is likely his last appearance for Salt Lake this season. Smith was followed by Greg Mahle, Josh Roenicke, Tyler DeLoach, Lucas Luetge, and Keynan Middleton. With the loss, Smith will finish the 2016 season with a record of 8-9 and an ERA of 4.61.

The Bees offense was led by Shane Robinson who is currently in Salt Lake completing a Major League rehab assignment. Robinson played the entire month of April with Salt Lake before being called up to the Angels. In the month of April the speedy outfielder batted .306, adding four stolen bases. After tonight's performance Robinson has improved his 2016 Triple-A average to .323, fifth highest among Bees who have played 15 games or more. Rey Navarro finished 1-for-3 with a double in his first game back with the Bees after being placed on the disabled list on May 31. Smith's Ballpark hosted 11,629 fans tonight, bringing the season attendance total to 482,286 with two games still left to play. The 2016 attendance is the highest total since the 2013 campaign. Two-time Cy Young winner Tim Lincecum is scheduled to start tomorrow night against the 51's.
