Lansing Lugnuts News Release
EASTLAKE, OH - The Saturday night series opener between the Lansing Lugnuts (32-35; 68-68) and the Lake County Captains (32-35; 76-60) has been postponed due to poor field conditions at Classic Park, with a doubleheader set for Sunday at 1 p.m.
The Lugnuts entered the day two games behind the West Michigan Whitecaps for the Eastern Division's final playoff berth. Three games remain in the regular season. If the two teams end the season tied, the Lugs own the tiebreaker and would leapfrog the Whitecaps into the postseason.
Lansing right-hander Matt Fields (5-7, 3.76) will start the first game of the doubleheader against Lake County Captains right-hander Jason Knapp (1-0, 2.19).
Right-hander Daniel Webb (0-1, 3.60) represents the Lugnuts in Game 2, opposed by Captains left-hander Francisco Jimenez (8-1, 3.63).
