September 30, 2015 - United States Hockey League (USHL)
Omaha Lancers News Release
Ralston, NE - In celebration of the Omaha Lancers' 30th Anniversary season, the team announced that the inaugural class of Hall of Fame inductees will be revealed in a pregame ceremony at their October 9th game against the Des Moines Buccaneers.
"The Lancers organization has one of the most prolific histories among all teams in the USHL," said Lancers' President Bryan Marshall. "With the celebration of our 30th season in the league, it's an appropriate time to establish a 'Lancers Hall of Fame,' and induct the inaugural class of former Lancers that have contributed so much to this organization's success over the past three decades."
Lancer fans are encouraged to submit their nominations for the Hall of Fame via email to rlippolis@lancers.com, or through the Lancers' social media outlets using the hashtag #LancersHOF. A selection committee has been established to review the nominations, establish the requirements for eligibility, and determine the initial Hall of Fame inductees, which will be kept confidential until the pregame ceremony on October 9th.
"Our fans definitely set a new standard for the teams of the USHL, dating back to our days at Ak-Sar-Ben Coliseum, and now continuing to our present-day home at Ralston Arena," continued Marshall. "We hope they will join us in remembering some familiar faces in Lancers history, and celebrate this inaugural class of Lancers Hall of Famers."
The Omaha Lancers home opener is October 9th against the Des Moines Buccaneers at 7:05 p.m. inside Ralston Arena. Fans can enjoy a pregame Tailgate Party outside of the arena from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with $2 beers, hotdogs, and music. The first 1,000 fans into Ralston Arena receive a FREE rally towel.
