Lancers Sweep Force in Weekend Series, 4-3 Final

FARGO, ND - The Omaha Lancers swept in the weekend series against the Fargo Force by winning 4-3 on Saturday night.

In the first period, the Lancers went on their first power play of the night where Nolan Renwick (1:59) scored his eighteenth goal of the year. The Lancers soon after went on their second power play of the night and Owen Fowler (6:11) scored from the left hash-marks beating Boynton for a 2-0 lead. Fargo would answer back with back-to-back goals in the first period to even the game 2-2.

In the second period, Cam Mitchell (8:39) found the puck loose in the Fargo defensive end and snuck it past Boynton for a 3-2 Lancers lead. The Force would even the game 3-3 after Griebel (13:28) ripped the puck from the blueline past Dobes.

In the final minute of the third period, Zach Dubinsky (18:59) put the puck in behind Boynton to get the Lancers the win for a final score of 4-3. Jakub Dobes stopped 31 of the 34 Force shots he faced in the win.

Omaha is now 26-20-1-1 on the year with 54 points and a spot at third in the USHL West.

The Lancers and Force will meet up for the final time of the regular season on Friday, April 9th at Ralston Arena. The opening puck drop is at 7:05 PM.
