Omaha finished the year 34-29-1 overall and in fifth place in the Western Conference with 69 standings points. The Lancers finished the season with a 5-3 mark head-to-head against the Stampede.

Sioux Falls reestablished its two-goal lead less than two minutes later though when Dakota Joshua won a battle for a loose puck at the side the Lancers goal crease before converting his first career USHL goal. Skirving and Kyle Schempp assisted on the first game-winning goal of the year for Joshua. The Lancers trimmed the lead back to a single goal with less than five minutes remaining in the period when Ryan Tait pounced on a rebound atop the goal crease in driving in his third goal of the year. Jimmy Schuldt and Jake Bischoff assisted on the five-on-five goal scored 15:35 into the second frame.

Sioux Falls put the game away though with the only conversion of the third period when Schempp and Skirving broke out in a two-on-one resulting in Skirving's 23rd goal of the season. Calderone grabbed the secondary assist on the even strength goal netted 17:46 into the final period.
