
Lancers Calm Storm in 4-2 Victory to Close out 3 Game Weekend

RALSTON, NE - The Omaha Lancers defeated the top-ranked Tri-City Storm at Ralston Arena on Sunday evening by a final score of 4-2.
In the first period, Colton Kalezic netted the first goal of the game at 7:17 to give the Storm a 1-0 lead. At 13:46 Tyler Carpenter and Kyle Kawamura went to work getting the first Lancers goal that was scored by Carpenter. Later into the period, and on the power play Kawamura scored his 2nd of the season and was assisted by Carpenter and Brian Silver, to get the Lancers ahead 2-1.
After a scoreless second period, the Lancers increased their lead 3-1. Tyler Carpenter scored his sixth goal of the year and was assisted by Peltonen and Kawamura. The Storm soon answered back on a shorthanded goal that was dished out from Brendan Furry to Brenden Budy to make the score 3-2. With two minutes remaining in the game, Tri-City pulled Jake Barczewski for the extra attacker. Aleksi Peltonen capitalized on the empty net, and the Lancers topped the Storm 4-2. Akira Schmid stopped 17 of the 19 shots he faced in the win.
Omaha improves on the season to 10-18-1-3 with 24 points in the USHL West.
