Omaha Lancers News Release

RALSTON, NE - The Omaha Lancers announced a trade deal with the Dubuque Fighting Saints this morning. In the deal, the Lancers have acquired Goaltender Reilly Herbst, in exchange for a 2021 8th Round Phase II Draft Pick.

Reilly, a Niwot, CO native, has appeared in 3 games this season for the Fighting Saints, where he won in each showing. In the 2019-2020 season, Herbst spent time in the 2019-2020 season in the BCHL with the Vernon Vipers. While in the BCHL, Herbst played in 34 regular-season games, collecting a 20-10-3 record with a 2.91 GAA and a .901 SV%. Herbst started his USHL career in the 2018-19 season with the Chicago Steel playing in 23 games with a 12-7-2 record, a 3.01 GAA, and a .881 SV%. Herbst is a product of the Colorado Thunderbirds AAA and the Selects Academy AAA programs. Herbst will be wearing #31 for the Lancers.

"Depth at the goaltending position is critical," Head Coach and General Manager David Wilkie said. "We feel that this move in acquiring Herbst provides that necessary depth for our Club."

The Lancers are back in action this weekend, starting on Friday, February 5th at Ralston Arena against the Sioux City Musketeers. Friday's puck drop is set for 7:05 PM. The Lancers will then head to Lincoln for a faceoff against the Stars on Saturday, February 6th at 7:05 PM. All of the action is on MixLR and HockeyTV. Tickets for Friday at home are on-sale now.
