Tri-City Storm News Release
Kearney, NE. - For the fourth time in the 2020-2021 USHL regular season, Storm goaltender Todd Scott has been named the USHL's Goaltender of the Week. Scott recorded his 10th victory of the season in net in Friday's 6-0 home win over the Omaha Lancers. He recorded his 11th victory of the season in net in Sunday's 7-2 home victory over Omaha. He was previously named USHL Goaltender of the Week on November 20th, December 15th, and January 29th. No player in the USHL has collected more weekly awards to this point in the season than Todd Scott.
Todd Scott, 20, of Albertville, Minnesota turned away all 19 Lancers' shots last Friday to post a shutout at the Viaero Center. On Sunday, Scott made 23 saves on 25 shots in Tri-City's 7-2 home win over Omaha. Last season, Scott appeared in thirteen games with the Storm after being acquired in January. He posted his first career USHL shutout with the Storm in a 5-0 road victory over the Madison Capitols on February 16th. Last Friday's win over Omaha was his third career USHL shutout. On December 31st, Scott was named one of Tri-City's Alternate Captains for the remainder of the 2020-2021 regular season. As a goaltender, Scott does not wear an "A" on his jersey, but is included in the Storm's leadership group as an Alternate Captain. Entering tomorrow's road game against the Sioux Falls Stampede, Scott is among the USHL leaders in several major goaltending statistics. He has posted a record of 11-4-0-1 to this point in the season. His Goals Against Average (GAA) of 1.93 is currently best in the USHL this year. His Save Percentage (SV%) of 0.918 is currently 2nd best in the league. Following last Friday's shutout victory over Omaha, Scott is now one of only four goaltenders in the USHL this season to record multiple shutouts. He posted a 2-0-0-0 record, a GAA of 1.00, and a SV% of .955% in the Storm's games last weekend.
"It felt great to get another shutout this weekend, that's always the goal going into the game, but it's awesome to make it happen. The team played incredible, the special teams were fantastic, and it was a great team win. It's been great to win games in front of our home fans at the Viaero Center. They have been incredible this season and have definitely provided a ton of energy for us. Myself, along with all of my teammates, really appreciate them coming out and supporting us during this crazy time." Goaltender Todd Scott
"Todd continues to set the tone for our team in practice with his competitiveness and work ethic on a daily basis. His success each week can be attributed to his approach each day of doing things the right way". Goaltending Coach Matt Zaba
