Santa Cruz Warriors News Release
SANTA CRUZ, Calif. - Lance Goulbourne will represent the Santa Cruz Warriors at the NBA D-League's fifth-annual Elite Mini Camp in Chicago, the League announced today. The camp, which features 37 top 2013-14 NBA D-League prospects, gives players the opportunity to display their skills and be evaluated by NBA team personnel in advance of NBA Summer Leagues and 2014 training camps.
Goulbourne appeared in 14 games with the Santa Cruz Warriors during the 2013-14 season, averaging 12.6 points and 8.1 rebounds. During the NBA D-League Playoffs, the 6-8, 230-pound forward ranked third in rebounds per contest, averaging 13.3 boards in seven postseason games played.
The two-day event, which runs from Monday, May 12 to Tuesday, May 13 at Chicago's Quest Multisports gym, features both drill work and full-court games for players to comprehensively showcase their talents. NBA front office executives and scouts are expected to be on hand to evaluate the talent, as NBA teams look to fill their rosters for Summer League and training camp. Goulbourne participated in last year's NBA D-League Elite Mini Camp, and he went on to play in NBA Summer League in Las Vegas with the Golden State Warriors.
The event, which is closed to the public, has previously been held in Los Angeles (2009), Chantilly, Va. (2010), and Chicago (2012, 2013).
