Lancaster Stormers News Release

Thursday evening's second game of the best-of-five Freedom Division series between the Lancaster Barnstormers and York Revolution was suspended due to rain after four innings and will be resumed Friday evening at 7:00 at Clipper Magazine Stadium.

Lancaster was leading, 3-1, at the time play was halted.

York threatened left-hander John Halama in each of the first four innings but only scored on a leadoff home run by Michael Hernandez in the second inning. The Revolution accumulated seven hits in the four innings while Halama walked one and struck out six. York was 0-for-5 with runners in scoring position, including four strikeouts, and left eight runners on base.

The reverse was true for Lancaster. Corey Thurman retired the first nine batters he faced, although it took a leaping catch by Scott Grimes at the wall in right center on a drive by Tommy Everidge in the second to maintain the streak and, it appeared, the lead.

Gilberto Mejia changed the flow of the game with a bunt single up the third base line to lead off the fourth inning. Adam Godwin moved him to second with a bunt, and Blake Gailen unloaded his second homer of the series, a drive into the screen in right center, for a 2-1 lead. Everidge was retired on a pop up to first base, but the next two Barnstormers reached on errors. First baseman Johan Limonta dropped the throw on Fehlandt Lentini's routine grounder to short. Ryan Harvey hit a pop fly on the left side of the infield which was dropped by third baseman Chris Nowak. Lentini reached third on the play while Harvey remained at first. Travis Denker got the third run home when his fly ball dropped in front of a charging Brandon Haveman down the left field stripe.

Fans may tune into Friday's resumption of play on 1390-AM, WLAN; 1390wlan.com or the I Heart Radio cell phone app, beginning at 6:45. If play is ongoing, fans may tune into 1600-AM, WPDC at the completion of Friday night high school football.

NOTES: Lancaster is 5-for-6 with runners in scoring position in the series...Gailen has driven in six runs and has put Lancaster in the lead three times...Denker has three RBI...Andres Perez will be facing a Lancaster reliever upon the resumption of play...The game was held up for one hour, 38 minutes before play began.
