
Lambos Returns to ICE from Minnesota

The Minnesota Wild announced this morning they have assigned defenseman Carson Lambos to the Winnipeg ICE.
Lambos, selected 26th overall in the 2021 NHL Draft by the Wild, took part in his first NHL training camp and has been in Minnesota since September 14th.
Wearing #71 last night, Lambos made his NHL preseason debut with the Wild in St. Louis playing 18:51.
Lambos, from Winnipeg, Manitoba, completed his second WHL season playing two games before leaving due to a medical condition. In 2019-20, the 18 year old had 32 points (8 goals and 24 assists) to lead all WHL rookie defenseman in scoring and was +20 in 57 games. NHL Central Scouting had Lambos ranked 11th among North American skaters, the highest ranked WHL blueliner, for the 2021 NHL Draft. The ICE selected Lambos in the 1st round, 2nd overall in the 2018 WHL Prospects Draft. Lambos was recently invited to Canada's National Junior Team summer development camp, he also represented Canada in 2019-2020 at the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge where he registered 5 assists in 6 games.
The ICE open the WHL regular season Friday night in Brandon (6:30 pregame show on CFRW 1290).
The two teams return to the ICE Cave inside Wayne Fleming Arena for the Nutrien Ag Solutions Home Opener Saturday at 7:00.
