Lakeland, FL (July 6th, 2006) - The Lakeland Tigers and Bank of America - the Official Bank of Minor League Baseball - will honor Polk County Firefighter Chris Little prior to the Tigers game on Friday, July 7. Little was selected as a Bank of America "Neighborhood Champion," an individual from the community who exemplifies higher standards.

Firefighter Little was selected from dozens of submissions to honor individuals in four professional categories: teachers, police officers, firefighters and healthcare workers. "We saw many impressive submissions in the judging process," said Zach Burek, Lakeland Tigers General Manager. "It was not an easy decision, but the judges felt that Firefighter Little displayed higher standards in their professional and community dedication, and deserved to be celebrated as one of our local heroes."

The Tigers host the Tampa Yankees at 7:00 PM on July 7 as they battle for the 2nd half West Division title and a spot in the Florida State League playoffs. Tickets, as always, are $5 for adults, $4 for children (14 & under) and $4 for seniors (55 and over.) Parking at Joker Marchant Stadium is free. Gates open one hour before game time (6:00 PM.) The Tigers also host the Tampa Yankees on Sunday, July 9th, at 6:00 PM.

Joker Marchant Stadium is located at 2301 Lakeland Hills Boulevard, exit 33 on I-4. More information can be obtained by calling the Tigers at (863) 686-8075, via email at info@lakelandtigers.net, or by visiting the online home of the Tigers at www.lakelandtigers.net.

"Bank of America applauds our Neighborhood Champions for setting an example for their community and exemplifying higher standards," says Shane Glor, Vice President of Florida Consumer Real Estate, Lakeland Office. "All of our nominees are winners for the dedication and commitment they exhibit every day." The program also provides these professionals - typically among the most challenged to qualify in today's housing market to own a home in the communities they serve - with information about the bank's Neighborhood Champions mortgage product, helping them realize their own dream of home ownership.

Consumers can learn more about this exclusive offer or apply for the Neighborhood Champions mortgage financing or learn about other Bank of America borrowing solutions by calling 1-800-900-9000 or by visiting www.bankofamerica.com.
