
Lake Monsters Rained Out At Brooklyn On Friday Night

BROOKLYN, NY --- Friday night's New York-Penn League game between the Vermont Lake Monsters and Brooklyn Cyclones at MCU Park was postponed due to rain. The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader starting at 1:05 pm on Sunday, July 31st when Brooklyn visits Vermont for a now four-game series July 30-August 1st at historic Centennial Field.
Vermont, winners of eight of its last 10 games, leads the Stedler Division with a 13-6 record and return home to Centennial to begin a three-game homestand against Staten Island on Saturday. The McNamara Division-leading Yankees are off to a 17-3 start to the 2011 season, including three straight victories and are 16-1 in last 17 games after losing two of their first three games.
The series with Staten Island begins on Saturday with first pitch at 6:05 pm. The series continues Sunday at 1:05 pm with an appearance at the ballpark by former professional wrestler Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake. The three-game series between the two division leaders concludes on Monday at 7:05 pm. Monday is also the first of two "Hot Dog Heaven" nights at Centennial this summer with 25-cent hot dogs on sale all night.
