LAFC Faces off against Sporting Kc on Wednesday Night at Children's Mercy Park
July 2, 2019 - Major League Soccer (MLS)
Los Angeles FC News Release
The Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) travels to Kansas City to take on Sporting KC on Wednesday, July 3 in the second and final regular season meeting between the two Western Conference sides. Tomorrow's contest is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. PT at Children's Mercy Park and will be broadcast live on YouTube TV, Univision KVMD, ESPN 710 AM, 980 AM "La Mera Mera'.
In the 2019 MLS season opener, LAFC edged SKC 2-1 in a come-from-behind victory at Banc of California Stadium on March 3. The visitors found the back of the net just after the quarter mark via Krisztian Nemeth, but second half goals from forwards Diego Rossi and Adama Diomande would give LAFC its first-ever win over Sporting.
Last year, Sporting KC was the only team to beat the Black & Gold twice in MLS play, including LAFC's only regular season defeat at Banc of California Stadium on August 11.
LAFC looks to rebound after suffering just its second defeat of 2019 last week - a 1-0 loss against the Colorado Rapids on Friday night. Despite the result, LAFC remains atop the Supporters' Shield standings with a 11-2-4 record (37 points).
Meanwhile, Sporting KC returns home for the first time since a 2-0 loss against the Galaxy on May 29. SKC has played the last five matches away from home, posting a 1-3-1 overall record.
