Following a 1-0 home win on Saturday vs. Vancouver, Sounders FC (8-4-5, 29 points) embarks on a two-match road trip beginning on Wednesday, July 3 at New York City FC (4:00 p.m. PT / JOEtv, YouTube TV, 950 KJR AM, El Rey 1360 AM). The club then travels to Columbus to take on Crew SC on Saturday, July 6 (4:30 p.m. PT / JOEtv, YouTube TV, 950 KJR AM, El Rey 1360 AM).
Wednesday's match is being broadcast locally on JOEtv and regionally on YouTube TV, featuring Keith Costigan, Steve Zakuani and Michelle Ludtka. Sports Radio 950 KJR AM is airing the contest, with Matt Johnson on play-by-play and Pete Fewing on color commentary, in addition to Andrew Harvey, Wade Webber and Danny Jackson providing pre-match, halftime and post-match coverage from the studio. Fans in Western Washington can tune in to El Rey 1360 AM for a Spanish radio broadcast, featuring "Zuper" Mario Rodriguez, Felipe Maqueda and Carlos Tapia.
Seattle's victory over Vancouver featured a stoppage-time winner for Kelvin Leerdam, his fifth goal of the season. The result vaulted Seattle to the top spot in the 2019 Cascadia Cup rankings and extended its home unbeaten streak to 12 games (10-0-2).
The Rave Green have a 2-2-0 record all-time against NYCFC, including a 1-1-0 road record. Seattle won the most recent meeting in 2018, a 3-1 home result thanks to goals from Cristian Roldan, Gustav Svensson and Harry Shipp.
