Los Angeles FC News Release
The Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) announced today that defender Danilo Silva underwent successful surgery to repair a lumbar disc injury in his lower back. Silva is expected to be out for the remainder of the regular season and playoffs.
In two seasons with the Club, the 32-year-old center back appeared in 15 regular season matches (11 starts), logging 944 minutes. His lone goal for LAFC came during the 3-2 postseason loss against Real Salt Lake on November 1.
LAFC (19-4-8; 65 points) will look to clinch the first trophy in Club history on Wednesday night against the Houston Dynamo (7:30 p.m. PT / YouTube TV, Univision KVMD; ESPN 710 AM, 980 AM). The Black & Gold have a chance to secure the top spot in MLS and claim the 2019 Supporters' Shield with a win against the Dynamo or a loss or draw by New York City FC against Atlanta United.
