
LAFC Defeats Portland Timbers 4-1

The Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) defeated the visiting Portland Timbers 4-1 on Sunday evening at Banc of California Stadium to start the season with consecutive home victories.
The Black & Gold struck early on a header from Mark-Anthony Kaye, his first goal since returning from season-ending injury last August. The Timbers answered back through forward Jeremy Ebobisse in the 29th minute, evening the score before LAFC forward Christian Ramirez netted another for the home team minutes before the half.
Subbing in for Ramirez, forward Adama Diomande extended the score with his second of the season, before Club captain Carlos Vela added the fourth in the 68th minute. With the goal and two assists, Vela had a hand in every LAFC goal tonight.
LAFC travels to New York City to take on NYCFC on Sunday, March 17 at Yankee Stadium. Kickoff is currently scheduled for 12:00 p.m. PT (FS1, ESPNLA 710AM, KWKW 980AM).
