Established in 2016, the World Football Summit is where the football industry's leading stakeholders meet to shape the future of the beautiful game. The platform has evolved from a yearly gathering taking place in Madrid, focused on the European market, to a growing series of global on-site and online events that cover the challenges and opportunities of the different regions and sectors in this thriving industry. Alongside the yearly summit, The WFS Industry Awards were created to acknowledge and reward the achievements of these executives, managers, sponsors, agencies, media, NGOs and other professionals whose talent, passion and dedication help make football the greatest show of our time.
Past winners of the "Best Executive" award include: Darren Eales, President of Atlanta United FC (2019); Beppe Marotta, General Manager of Juventus (2018) and Gustavo Silikovich, General Director of Club Atlético River Plate (2017).
