
Chicago Fire FC Exercise 2021 Contract Options on Four Players

CHICAGO - Chicago Fire FC today announced the Club has exercised contract options for four players from the team's 2020 roster. An additional 23 players remain under contract, bringing the Club's current roster to 27 players under contract for the 2021 MLS season.
The Fire exercised the 2021 contract options on the following four players: forward Elliot Collier, midfielder Djordje MihailoviÃâ¡, defender Wyatt Omsberg and defender Nicholas Slonina.
Additionally, the Club declined the 2021 contract options of the following two players: midfielder Jeremiah Gutjahr and goalkeeper Connor Sparrow. Gutjahr is eligible for the MLS Waiver Draft, while Sparrow is eligible to participate in the MLS Re-Entry Draft.
Midfielder Micheal Azira and forward CJ Sapong are out of contract and eligible for free agency. The Fire is currently in discussions with midfielder Brandt Bronico regarding his future with the Club.
The following players were already guaranteed for next season: midfielder Ignacio Aliseda, forward Robert BeriÃâ¡, defender Jonathan Bornstein, goalkeeper Chris Brady, defender Francisco Calvo, midfielder Javier Casas Jr., midfielder Przemysà âaw Frankowski, midfielder Gastón Giménez, midfielder Brian Gutiérrez, midfielder Fabian Herbers, defender Johan Kappelhof, goalkeeper Kenneth Kronholm, midfielder ÃÂlvaro Medrán, midfielder Alex Monis, defender Miguel Navarro, defender/midfielder Mauricio Pineda, defender Andre Reynolds II, midfielder Allan RodrÃÂguez, defender Boris SekuliÃâ¡, goalkeeper Bobby Shuttleworth, goalkeeper Gabriel Slonina, midfielder Luka StojanoviÃâ¡ and defender Carlos Terán.
