
LA Galaxy Sign Homegrown Midfielder Jonathan Pérez to Contract Extension

LOS ANGELES - The LA Galaxy today announced that the club has signed Homegrown midfielder Jonathan Pérez to a four-year contract extension through the end of the 2026 MLS season with a club option for 2027.
"We are excited for Jonny to sign a long-term deal to continue his pathway at the Galaxy ," said LA Galaxy Head Coach Greg Vanney. "Jonny is a talented and dynamic winger that has developed through the LA Galaxy Academy and made an impact at every level. We look forward to his continued growth and success with the first team in the years to come."
Pérez, 19, has logged seven appearances (2 starts) across all competitions for the Galaxy (2021 - Present) since making his debut for LA as a substitute against Seattle Sounders FC on May 2, 2021. Pérez logged 128 minutes in 3 games played (2 starts) for the Galaxy during the 2022 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup campaign. Notably, Pérez tallied a goal in the Galaxy's 2-0 win over Club Deportivo Guadalajara before a sell-out crowd of 71,189 fans for the Leagues Cup Showcase in the first-ever soccer match at SoFi Stadium on Aug. 3, 2022.
In 33 career appearances (27 starts) for LA Galaxy II (2020 - 22) in the USL Championship, Pérez logged eight goals and eight assists. During the 2022 USL Championship Regular Season, Pérez logged three goals and three assists in four games played (4 starts). In 2021, Pérez recorded one goal and four assists in 17 games played (14 starts) with Los Dos in league play.
A product of the LA Galaxy Academy, Pérez has represented the U-13, U-14, U-15 U-16/17 and U-18/19 sides, making over 100 appearances and scoring 41 goals.
The Pico Rivera, Calif., native has played for Mexico at the U-16,U-18, U-19 and U-20 levels, including tallying one goal and two assists in five appearances (4 starts) for the U-20 Mexican National Team at the CONCACAF U-20 Championship in Honduras.
