Los Angeles Avengers News Release

LOS ANGELES -- Avenger offensive/defensive lineman Arnold Miller has been selected to the Arena Football League's 2004 "All-Rookie Team."

Miller, who spent three seasons as a defensive lineman with the Cleveland Browns before joining the Avengers, had 12.5 tackles, including two for losses and one quarterback sack in 15 games this season. He also batted down two passes and forced a fumble.

Indiana Firebird quarterback Adrian McPherson, who passed for 61 touchdowns and ran for 19 additional scores, also was named to the "All-Rookie" squad and is the leading candidate for the AFL's "Rookie of the Year" award, which will be announced on Wednesday, June 9.

The Austin Wranglers, who concluded their inaugural season with an 8-8 record, led the way with three "All-Rookie" selections: OL/DL Aaron Humphrey, offensive specialist Tacoma Fontaine and defensive specialist Deron Jenkins.

Miller (6-foot-3, 275 pounds, Louisiana State), who signed a three-year contract with the Avengers on Nov. 6, 2003, is the fifth Avenger to earn "All-Rookie" honors, following in the footsteps of defensive specialist Damen Wheeler last season, kicker Brian Reeves in 2001, and wide receiver/linebacker Chris Jackson and quarterback Todd Marinovich in 2000.
