Destroyers re-sign Polk to two-year extension

COLUMBUS, OH – The Arena Football League's Columbus Destroyers and defensive specialist JoJo Polk have reached terms on a two-year contract extension that will keep Polk in Columbus through the 2006 season.

Polk (6-0, 185, Northeastern State) is the Destroyers' all-time leading tackler with a total of 155.5 in two seasons with the team. In 2003 Polk set a single-season franchise record after registering 86.5 total tackles before leading the team's defense in tackles for the second consecutive year in 2004. Polk's final numbers include 69.0 tackles, 11 pass deflections, three interceptions, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries in 16 games this season.

The Destroyers concluded their 2004 inaugural season with a record of 6-10, one win shy of the most wins in the franchise's six-year history.
