Kvapil, Asselin Earn Spirit Players of the Week

Saginaw Spirit forwards Marek Kvapil and Patrick Asselin have earned the team's players of the week honors for the week ending Sunday, 10/17.

Kvapil is the Spirit offensive player of the week. The 19 year old native of Prague, The Czech Republic joined the Spirit Wednesday and in his debut Friday night, scored a goal and added an assist. Kvapil contributed to the Spirit power play during the weekend as well.

Asselin is the Spirit defensive player of the week. The 17 year old native of Peterborough, Ontario had a goal and an assist, and was plus 1 on the weekend. Asselin is credited with playing a solid, two way game in all three Spirit weekend games and contributed to the team's penalty kill.

The Saginaw Spirit, Mid-Michigan's Ontario Hockey League (OHL) Franchise plays 34 home games from September to March. The OHL is part of the Canadian Hockey League (CHL), which also includes the Western Hockey League (WHL) and the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL).
