B.C. Lions News Release
(Vancouver) The BC Lions Football Club announced today that defensive back Korey Banks has agreed to terms on a contract extension through the 2011 season.
"Korey is another key part of our consistency on defence and a player we look to for big plays," said Lions GM and head coach Wally Buono. "These recent signings are aimed at securing core players we feel will make us very competitive this year and seasons ahead."
Banks originally joined the Lions in 2006 as part of the Ottawa Renegades dispersal draft. Now entering his sixth pro season, Banks has recorded 192 tackles (141 as a Lion) and 27 interceptions (17 as a Lion). Along the way, Banks has earned West Division All-Star status three consecutive seasons ('06-'08) and was a CFL All-Star for the second time in his career in 2007.
