
Komets meet UHL trade deadline with rookie pick up

Fort Wayne, IN â The Komets announced this afternoon that they have acquired rookie winger Cole Bassett from the Missouri River Otters for cash and a fourth round North American Amateur Draft pick just prior to the UHL's trade deadline of 3pm today.
Bassett, 22, skated 4 years with Minnesota St. University in the NCAA from 1999-2004. Upon completion of his collegiate play the left winger skated stints with Quad City (2/8/04-3/7/04, 7gp, 0pts, 4pim) and Missouri (3/13/04-4/10/04, 13gp, 2g, 6a, 6pim) last season.
Bassett has appeared in 36 games this season with Missouri netting 8 goals and 12 points while accumulating 12 penalty minutes. Bassett is expected to report to Fort Wayne early next week.
