Fort Wayne, IN | Monday, May 3, 2010 --- The Komets stoned the visiting Port Huron Icehawks in game 7 of the IHL semifinals 4-0 Monday night in front of 7,454 to advance to the IHL finals for the third straight year and aim for their third Turner Cup in a row.

It will be the second time in the 58-year history of the Fort Wayne franchise that the Komets have appeared in the finals three consecutive years. The only time that has been accomplished in the past was from 1963 to 1965.

Fort Wayne's Nick Boucher posted his second career playoff shutout and his first game-seven shutout stopping all 33 Icehawk shots and added an assist for topping. Port Huron's Raffaele D'Orso registered the loss making 20 saves.

Fort Wayne native Kaleigh Schrock netted his first two career post-season goals while Guy Dupuis and Leo Thomas also added marks. -gamesheet-

The Komets will face the winner of the Muskegon-Flint semifinal series. Muskegon leads that best-of-seven series 3-2 with game six Tuesday night at Flint.

Tickets for the first two Fort Wayne home games of the IHL Turner Cup finals go on sale Tuesday at 10am at the Coliseum Ticket Office and online at Ticketmaster.com. Dates depending on the outcome of the Muskegon-Flint series.
