Koko's Hat-Trick Helps Spits Pound Knights

Alexander Khokhlachev had three goals and two assists and Jaroslav Pavelka made 44 saves, as the Spitfires thumped the London Knights, 8-1, Sunday afternoon, in front of 6,094 at the WFCU Centre.

Kerby Rychel, Alex Aleardi and Remy Giftopoulos all had a goal and two assists, as Windsor (26-31-2-6) beat London by the largest margin since a 6-1 win back on December 1st, 2002.

Emerson Clark (7) and Josh Ho-Sang (14) had the other Spitfire goals, while Olli Maatta (8) had the lone London marker.

The Spitfires led 2-0 after 20 minutes and 5-1 after 40, thanks to a string of three goals in a 4:30 stretch late in the second period.

Pavelka was outstanding all afternoon in goal, making 18 saves in the second period and another 14 in the third; icing the win along with goals from Rychel, Khokhlachev and Ho-Sang in the final 20 minutes.

The Spitfires wrap the regular season this week, hosting Owen Sound on Thursday, before a home-and-home series at Plymouth Saturday night and here in Windsor on Sunday afternoon.
