Player News - D.C. has dealt with a shocking amount of injuries to start the year. Key players absent include GK Bill Hamid, starting CBs Steve Birnbaum and Donovan Pines, USMNT winger Paul Arriola, and DM Russell Canouse.
D.C. did get back CF Ola Kamara, who scored off the bench in his season debut. Kamara has four goals and two assists in six career appearances against Orlando City, last facing the Lions as a member of the LA Galaxy in 2018.
Take a look at D.C. United's full roster here.
Team Form
D.C. United began the season with a huge win, knocking off NYCFC 2-1 at Audi Field in their home opener. Since then, though, the Black and Red have dropped three straight, including a 3-1 loss at Columbus last weekend. D.C. plays Chicago at home on Thursday night before facing Orlando City on Sunday.
Head-to-Head
Orlando City will face D.C. United for the 13th time in all competitions on Sunday night. The Lions have four wins, six losses, and two draws against the Black and Red all time, and have not beaten D.C. in a regular season game since September 2017. The two teams did not face each other in 2020.
Rasmussen University Fact
Manchester United and England legend Wayne Rooney either scored or assisted the winning goal in all three of his appearances against Orlando City, but he's out of the picture now, managing Derby County in the EFL Championship. D.C. United has not beaten Orlando City without Wayne Rooney on the field since September 24, 2016.
