The Red Stars acquired forward Savannah McCaskill from Sky Blue FC in exchange for the club's highest first-round pick and the club's second-round natural pick from Utah Royals FC in the 2020 National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) College Draft. McCaskill appeared in six matches for Sky Blue this season with four starts, recording one assist. McCaskill, a South Carolina product, was selected No. 2 overall in the 2018 NWSL College Draft. She made her Red Stars debut last week, taking two shots in the loss.

Recent Form

The Red Stars are 3-4-2 through their first nine games this season, but have lost their last three matches dating back to May 26. In those matches, Chicago has been held scoreless in every game, being outscored 6-0 in losses to the Washington Spirit (2-0), Portland Thorns (3-0) and Reign FC (1-0).

Hot or Not

The Red Stars' recent struggles can be correlated back to the fact that their leading goalscorer, Sam Kerr, has been away with Australia for the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup in France this summer. Outside of Kerr, who leads the NWSL with six goals, four other players have scored goals for the Red Stars, combining for seven goals in nine games. Chicago hasn't scored in its last three games, dating back to May 26, the first game Kerr missed due to the World Cup.

Head-to-Head

Historically, the Pride are 2-5-1 against the Red Stars and have never beaten Chicago at home, posting an 0-3-1 record against the visitors. However, in the two clubs' last four meetings, the Pride hold a 2-1-1 record against the Red Stars. Orlando and Chicago will meet twice more in the regular season with a matchup in Chicago at Seat Geek Stadium on August 21 and a final game at Exploria Stadium on September 11.

Despite missing the past three matches due to playing in the World Cup for Australia, Red Stars forward Sam Kerr still leads the NWSL in goals scored with six. Kerr remains ahead of Amy Rodriguez (5), Crystal Dunn (4) and Midge Purce (4) among the league leaders.
