FORT MILL, S.C. - May 1, 2009 - The Knights fell behind early and couldn't catch up after the Syracuse offense quieted the crowd in the 8-2 win at Knights stadium.

RHP Jeff Van Benschoten had a tough outing going 6 innings, allowing 9 hits and 5 earned runs. He received his second loss of the season tonight totaling his record to 2-2.

The Knights pitchers had their work cut out for them against Chiefs 1B Kory Casto. On the night, Casto hit 4 for 4 with 3 runs and an RBI. With these hits, he continues his streak to 4 games.

The Knights LF Michael Restovich connected in the 7th inning for a solo home run off of Syracuse LHP Ron Villone. With this home run, Restovich continues his hitting streak of 6 games, dating back to 4/25 against Gwinnett.

Prior to the game the White Sox made moves when they sent OF Jerry Owens to Charlotte, purchased the contract of OF Scott Podsednik, and returned INF Jayson Nix from his rehabilitation assignment at Charlotte and reinstate him from the 15-day disabled list.

The Knights and Chiefs will continue their series tomorrow at 7:15 PM. LHP Wes Whisler (1-2, 2.61 ERA) starts for Charlotte, RHP Collin Balestar (1-2, 4.98 ERA) starts for Syracuse.
