
Knights Drop Friday's Game to Sounds 9-1

(UPTOWN CHARLOTTE, NC) - The Charlotte Knights fell to the Nashville Sounds by a score of 9-1 in game four of the six-game series from Truist Field in Uptown Charlotte on Friday night. With the loss, the series is now tied at 2-2. The Knights won the first two games of the series.
The Sounds scored two runs in each of the first four innings en route to the team's second straight victory over the Knights. RHP Davis Martin (3-5, 6.23) started the game for Charlotte and was charged with the loss after he allowed eight runs on 11 hits over 3.1 innings pitched.
Third baseman Zach Remillard drove home Charlotte's lone run on an RBI double in the bottom of the fifth inning. In all, the Knights tallied five hits on the night. Remillard had two of the five hits for Charlotte.
Nashville first baseman Jon Singleton had a big day at the plate for the Sounds. Singleton went 3-for-5 with two runs scored, one double, one home run and three RBIs. His home run was his 24th of the season and it was the first of two home runs on the night for the Sounds. Patrick Dorrian also homered for Sounds, a solo shot in the ninth inning. The Sounds had 17 hits on the evening.
LHP Robert Gasser earned the win for the Sounds after he tossed 6.2 solid innings. He allowed just one run on five hits.
The Knights will continue the six-game home series against the Nashville Sounds (Triple-A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers) on Saturday night from Truist Field. First pitch is set for 5:35 p.m. from the home of the Knights on Saturday. Long-time Knights broadcaster Mike Pacheco will have the call beginning at 7:00 p.m. on MiLB.TV and My 12 WMYT.
