
Knights blast Otters

LONDON, Ont. - Nazem Kadri scored three goals and two assists to lead the London Knights to an 8-1 win over the Erie Otters in an Ontario Hockey League game played tonight in front of 8,953 at the John Labatt Centre. London leads the best-of-seven Western Conference Quarterfinal Series 2-0. John Tavares, Dominic DeSando, Scott Aarssen, Phil Varone and Justin Taylor also scored for the Knights. Shawn Szydlowski netted the lone Otters goal. The two teams were tied at one after one. London carried a 3-1 advantage into the third. London out shot the Otters 54-29 in the game. Jaroslav Janus started and allowed seven goals on 47 shots before being replaced by Shane Owen midway through the third. Owen turned aside six of the seven shots he faced. The three stars of the game were all from the Knights. Kadri was the first, Aarssen the second and Daniel Erlich (two assists) the third.
Games 3 and 4 of the best-of-seven series will be played at the Tullio Arena on Wednesday and Thursday at 7 p.m. Tickets for the games are on sale now at the Civic Center Box Office, all Erie-area Ticketmaster locations, on-line at www.ottershockey.com or by calling 814-452-4857.
